Pet Bed Day

Pet Bed Day
Pleased to report that I FINALLY got around to stuffing and finishing all the pet beds that I made several weeks ago. A woman from my neighborhood was collecting items for a pet rescue and the Humane Society. It was great motivation for me to finish them. I don’t relish stuffing them because it’s a messy job. 16 beds off to needy animals. I would like to tell you that I used all the stuffing but sadly I still have over 1/2 the pile left. More beds in the future! 🐱🐶💕😊

Enjoyed some fun leftovers from winter on my run this morning. Hope you have a fabulous weekend. XOXO—Teresa

UPDATE: Edmonds, Washington Chapter

Thank you Bagette Barbara for the wonderful update on the Edmonds, WA Chapter. Look at all that AMAZING FOOD! I think this chapter wins the award for best refreshments! And, they get bags done too. Kudos for all your hard work, ladies, keep it up and enjoy all the goodies and friendship! Teresa

EDMONDS, WA CHAPTER NEWS: On January 24, 2025, the Edmonds, WA Chapter of GBL met at the home of Bagette Kathy. Awaiting the Bagettes were several bags all cut by Bagette Kathy and ready to iron and sew. Official presser, Pam, was thrilled to see the beautiful and colorful new cover for the ironing board. Snazzy, huh?

Bagette Pam said: “Okaaaay…..not to say our sewing bees revolve around food, but that would be an understatement?? We had Chile Verde (Kathy), Cornbread with Sage leaves, (Susan) and Plum-ginger cake with whipped cream and honey (Carla)! Ohhh, we did get some sewing done tooooo!! Please note my ironing station with a new board cover!!”

I’m so proud of these multi-talented ladies and happy to be their “Publications Manager” by providing updates. Thanks everyone. I hope that I can visit Edmonds this year and have another reunion with you.

Bagette Barbara (Maine Chapter Coordinator and former member of the Edmonds Chapter)

UPDATE: Maine Chapter

I love Bagette Barbara's updates about the Maine Chapter of Green Bag Lady. What a fun group doing great things in their community. Keep up the great sewing work ladies! :) Teresa ❤️🧵

Hi Teresa--

Here is an update of the Maine Chapter of the Green Bag Lady for your blog.
Big hugs from Southwest Harbor, Maine.

MAINE CHAPTER UPDATE: On January 23, 2025, the Maine Chapter of GBL met at the Common Good Soup Kitchen in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Bagettes Julie and Kathleen, donning beautifully color coordinated  clothing (not planned ahead), were busy Bagettes sewing kid size 12x12 inch fabric shopping bags. We completed 24 bags!  We also made and hung a curtain panel for our brand-new cabinet to keep our GBL supplies.

HAPPY ANNOUNCEMENT: February 4, 2025 marks our 1st anniversary of meeting and sewing at the Common Good. Common Good’s Director, Debi, continues to welcome us to use the space, and we couldn’t be happier with all the locals and tourists we have met. It’s so much fun to spread the word about GBL and distribute our free bags to happy, grateful recipients.

Fun Things

Some happy things to share:

1 & 2) Bagette Ingeborg sent me (and my family) a super fun package from Holland. These were the cute things in mine: 2 tree ornaments, the windmill one is a replica of the windmill Big Girl and I went to in the town of Ruulo. (that's me working the windmill in photo 2, ha ha), some sewing machine paper clips (too cute!) and a lovely zip bag made by the even lovelier Ingeborg ❤️🥰💝🇳🇱

3) Some special order pouches for friends who play Mahjong and Ski 😊❄️

Photo Finish Friday

I took this photo while walking back from the mailbox this week. See Orion? It almost looks like a painting. Have a relaxing weekend. We are looking forward to dinner with friends tonight. Cheers—Teresa ❤️💕 ⭐️ 🌟 🌌

Planty Plants

It may be cold outside, but my inside plants are quite happy:

1) Schefflera is in full bloom (even though they are not supposed to bloom in houses, ha!)
2) One of my zygocacti is boasting both red and white blooms
3) I finally got a Chinese money plant from a neighbor, I loved Bagette Ingeborg's in Holland
4) Hubby got me a snake plant for my birthday and I love it!
5) Agnes is showing off…again
6) One of my orchids with 8 (yes, 8!) blooms…squeeee!

Hope you are keeping warm. XOXO--Teresa 🌿🍃🌱🎍🪴

St. Patrick's Banner on Etsy!

Hey lovely people, I took your advice and put my St. Patrick's Day banner in my etsy shop! I have 4 of them for sale and you even get to choose the color of ribbon you like. They are so festive and include little metal shamrock charms.  I'd love for you to have one! 😊 Teresa ☘️🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪

Hairbrush

It was my birthday over the weekend and I asked for a hairbrush. As you can see, a new one was necessary. I think I've had the old one for 20+ years. The plastic part has holes and the bristles were coming off when I was using it. Ha. I'm happy to report, I used the new one last night and it was glorious! 😀 I really love this brush (I have the smaller size one in my suitcase for travel) and am glad Aveda is still making it! Cheers--Teresa ❤️

Photo Finish Friday

We have had snow almost every night this past week. Some mornings, I have woken up to a dusting of sugar on everything, other mornings a few inches. This morning it was a 15 inch blanket of pure white. Tennis was canceled so I helped hubby dig out the driveway instead. I also spent the afternoon making some LUCKY 🇮🇪 ☘️ banners to put in my etsy shop, thanks for all the feedback. 😍 I hope for you a lovely weekend of fun and warmth. XOXO--Teresa 😀❄️🏔️
